Over the weekend, I took a trip to the DMZ (De-Militarized Zone) that's between North & South Korea. It's a 2km stretch that goes along the country's borders were no one from the other country is allowed. We went down into 2 of the 4 tunnels that North Korea had built trying to tunnel into South Korea during the Korean War. I'm glad I was wearing a hard hat - the tunnels were super short & I hit my head a bit :)
It was an amazing trip - the scenery was wonderful. I got to see a lot of the S.Korean countryside on the way there & back. It was a long, hot day but a trip well worth it :)
This was a silly sign. |
Just in case the 5ft railing disappeared.. |
This way is down. Not the other way. |
The Freedom Bridge where North/South Koreans had to choose a side. Once they crossed over, they had to stay on the side they chose. Prisoners also used this bridge to go home. |

A ride at the odd amusement park at the Freedom Bridge area |
