Rock...Scissor...Romeo!

My students had to change the story of Romeo & Juliet so that it wasn't a tragedy anymore. They decided to solve the fighting problem by doing "Rock Scissor Paper" as a solution. This is a common way to solve disputes in Korea, even with old men. It's hilarious. I'm SO proud of my kids - they did an amazing job!!

Trip to Paju

It's been a while ~ I apologize!! I just hadn't done much really. (That and I'm a tad lazy :) )
Last weekend, I went with a group of friends up to a cabin in Paju. It was really quite beautiful. We grilled out for dinner and the next day went to see Heyri, an artist's village in Paju. We were planning on hiking but it was just too cold!! We say some really neat things in Heyri, including a trick art museum, a regular museum, and a toy museum, which Oscar really loved. It was a lovely weekend. I need to travel more this year!!
Cabin!

I was tickled to find all the windows were from America!

Everland!

My friends and I took a trip to Everland over the weekend. Everland is a Korean amusement park with rides and attractions. There weren't as many rides as a typical American amusement park (there were only about 8?), but it was still a fun time. One of the rides is the largest, longest wooden roller coaster in the world! That one was a lot of fun. It was also the only one I went on, but that was a-okay with me - it was definitely the best one, according to my friends who went on the others. The others had too many flips and twists for my liking. There was a Halloween-themed merchandise store, parade, and picture attractions. All in all, it was a pretty wonderful day :)

Busan: Baseball & Lunch

While on vacation in Busan, my attempts to go to the beach have been thwarted every day. So in the interim, my lovely friends & I made the best of it. We had a wonderful lunch that was perfect for a rainy day - backbone soup with cabbage. (so good! the meat just feel right off the bone)

After that, we headed off to a baseball game. Doosan Bears vs LG Giants. It was a close game, the Giants won 8-7. It was a ton of fun! Very hot, but fun. It was a great vacation activity :)
